Questions asked across Creative & Media

Walk me through your portfolio. Which piece best represents you, and why is it in there?

Curate ruthlessly and rehearse aloud: for each piece — the brief, your decisions, the result. 'Best represents you' wants identity, not just polish.

Tell me about a brief that changed dramatically mid-project. How did you keep the work good?

Show flexibility without martyrdom: how you re-scoped, what you renegotiated, and the quality you refused to drop.

A client says 'make it pop' — vague feedback, real deadline. What do you do?

Translate, don't guess: ask what it should feel like, show two contrasting options, and turn vague words into concrete choices they can react to.

How do you handle a round of feedback you believe makes the work worse?

One respectful push-back with a reason, offered alongside their version — then commit gracefully. Clients hire people who challenge once, nicely.

Tell me about producing good work fast, with almost no brief.

Show your speed process: the three questions you always ask, the reference-gathering shortcut, the version-one you get in front of people early.

How do you keep creative quality up when budgets and timelines keep shrinking?

Name the corners you cut deliberately and the ones you never cut. Craft under constraint is the actual job — sound at peace with that.
