Describe your checking system — fresh-eyes review, checklists, reading aloud, second pair of eyes on critical documents. Method beats 'I'm careful'.
Explain a legal or regulatory concept you know well as you would to a client with no legal background.
Do it live, in under a minute, without jargon. Plain-English translation is the most client-visible skill in the whole sector.
Describe juggling deadlines where missing one had real legal consequences — a court date, limitation period or completion.
Show your deadline infrastructure: key-date diarising, buffers, early escalation. In this sector 'nearly on time' is a negligence claim.
What does commercial awareness mean to you — and what's a legal-sector story you've been following?
Have one current story ready — a merger, regulation, market shift — and connect it to what clients will pay for. This is a standard law-firm filter question.
A client asks you to do something that feels ethically questionable but is arguably within the rules. How do you respond?
